Office Policies

Vaccinations

Every child in our office is required to be up-to-date with vaccinations as suggested by their pediatrician, unless he or she is unable to do so for medical reasons. As a private office, our doctors have chosen this policy as they wish eliminate the risk an unimmunized child in our waiting room potentially poses to other patients in our office. If your child is not vaccinated due to medical reasons, we must receive a letter from his or her physician stating so. If your child is not vaccinated due to personal reasons, we will not be able to treat him or her in our office.

Individual Procedure

Whenever your child has a cleaning or exam, you are welcome to sit in the hygienists room with him or her. However, whenever a child is undergoing treatment such as fillings, crowns, or extractions, you (the parent/guardian) must wait in the waiting room. You are welcome to walk your child back to the treatment chair, but he or she is then to be left in the operating room, where he or she is in constant care the dentist and dental assistant. The doctors have found that children often behave and listen much better when his or her attention is solely on the doctor, and not on the parent in their room. Our mission is to give your child great care, and our doctors can best serve your child with limited distractions.
